Daniel Albert Albrecht Ernsting

Daniel Albert (Albrecht) Ernsting (* 1749 in Bremen ; † January 4, 1820 in Bremen) was a German engraver and draftsman.

biography

Ernsting completed an apprenticeship as a printer with Mrs. Meier in Bremen . From 1773 he learned the art of copperplate engraving in Göttingen . He then studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen . Around 1780 he worked again in Bremen. He made copperplate engravings for portraits , customers, business cards and playing cards , among other things . He became known through some drawings, watercolors and copper engravings from Bremen and its surroundings. In October 1813, General Tettenborn made his ceremonial entry into the city of Bremen. This invasion of the Cossacks was documented by him with a copper engraving. He also made engravings on silversmiths.
