Daniel George Bolduc (born April 6, 1953 in Waterville , Maine ) is a former American ice hockey player who has worked for the Detroit Red Wings and Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League and the New England Whalers in the World Hockey Association was active on the position of the left winger .

Career

Bolduc was never drafted and made his breakthrough in a professional league after the 1976 Winter Olympics , where the striker competed with the US national team. In six games he scored two goals and narrowly missed a medal win with his team. After the tournament he was signed by the New England Whalers from the World Hockey Association . In 1978 the Whalers made it to the play-off finals, where the team was defeated by the Winnipeg Jets . Since he had played good play-offs, the National Hockey League became aware of the striker and after his contract with the Whalers in 1978 he was signed by the Detroit Red Wings .

There he had few teething problems and in his first season Danny Bolduc made 56 appearances. Mostly he was used in the checking line. After another season, however, the level of his performance declined and the American was seen playing more and more often in the Adirondack Red Wings farm team . In the Montréal Canadiens , he could not recommend himself for a place in the NHL squad. In 1982 he signed a contract with the Calgary Flames as a free agent . It was not enough for more than three inserts, so he mostly played in the team of the Colorado Flames in the Central Hockey League , where he holds the team record for most goals. He ended his career in 1985 wearing the Moncton Golden Flames .
