Daniel Carlsson (rally driver)
Daniel Carlsson (born June 29, 1976 ) is a Swedish rally driver .
Career
At the 2005 World Rally Championship , Carlsson was given the Peugeot by Markko Märtin for the remainder of the season after Märtin 's co-driver Michael Park was killed in the Wales Rally . In 2006 he finished third in the Rally Sweden . He drives rallies with his co-driver Jan Svanström.
Controversy
Although Daniel Carlsson made himself available as a figurehead for the KörNykter.nu ( Eng . Drive sober - now!) Campaign , he was seen in the early morning of June 22, 2008 in the municipality of Kil (province of Värmland ) while he was a local Wanted to avoid police control. He parked his car and fled on foot, but was arrested soon after. A blood test revealed that the rally driver was under the influence of alcohol. The following day he admitted his mistake in a press release on his website, resigned from the anti-alcohol campaign and temporarily withdrew from active rallying.
