Markko Märtin (born November 10, 1975 in Tartu ) is an Estonian rally driver and last drove for Peugeot in the 2005 World Rally Championship . He currently lives in Monaco .

Märtin has raced in the World Rally Championship since the 1997 Finland Rally . At that time he started in a privately used Toyota . In 2001 he became a regular driver for the Subaru factory team. A year later, Märtin was signed by Ford and won his first two World Championship races in Greece and Finland .

In 2004 he reached third place overall in the world championship at the end of the season and moved to the Peugeot team for the 2005 season.

On September 18, 2005, Märtin crashed into a tree on the final day of the Wales Rally. His co-driver Michael Park was seriously injured and died at the scene of the accident. Märtin himself remained uninjured, but ended his participation in the 2005 season. On November 25, 2005, his long-time friend and colleague Richard Burns also died of complications from a brain tumor.

From the 2006 season Märtin was no longer represented in the World Rally Championship. Instead, he started for Honda in the Danish touring car series, but ended this race early. At the end of 2007 , Märtin made his rally comeback in a Subaru Impreza WRC 2007 by winning the Bettega Memorial Rally Sprint in Italy. At the beginning of 2008 , he was hired by the Subaru World Rally Team as an official test driver. M arkko M ärtin is the owner of MM Motorsport. In the 2011 season , Estonian Ott Tänak, sponsored by Märtin, will drive in the World Rally Championship for the MM Motorsport team.
