The FIA - World Rally Championship in 2007 was in January 19, Monte Carlo started and ended on December 2nd in the UK . A total of 16 world championship races were held on four continents. Sébastien Loeb became world champion for the fourth time in a row with eight individual victories and a total of 116 world championship points. In contrast to the 2006 World Rally Championship , the World Championship races in Cyprus , Turkey and Australia were no longer included in the 2007 World Cup calendar. The replacement was the Rally Norway and the Rally Ireland (for the first time in the calendar) and the Rally Portugal was again taken into account by the FIA after a break of several years .

Teams and drivers

The Citroën Total World Rally Team came, after a break in 2006 as a works team for the first time with the new Citroën C4 WRC on. For Citroën, Sébastien Loeb started with co-driver Daniel Elena and Daniel Sordo with co-driver Marc Martí.

The Ford World Rally Team used a Finnish driver duo. Marcus Grönholm with Timo Rautiainen and Mikko Hirvonen with Jarmo Lehtinen started in the Ford Focus RS WRC .

For the Subaru World Rally Team , the Norwegian Petter Solberg started with his co-driver Phil Mills, the Australian Chris Atkinson with Glenn MacNeall and the Spaniard Xavier Pons with his co-driver Xavier Amigo in the Subaru Impreza .

The Munchi's Ford World Rally Team competed with Argentinian drivers. Luís Pérez Companc with José Maria Volta and Juan Pablo Raies with Jorge Pérez Companc started in the Ford Focus RS WRC .

Stobart M-Sport Ford Rally fielded three Ford Focus RS WRCs . The Norwegian Henning Solberg drove with Cato Menkerud, the Finn Jari-Matti Latvala with Miikka Anttila and the Briton Matthew Wilson with Michael Orr.

The Austrian duo Manfred Stohl with co-driver Ilka Minor and the Swede Daniel Carlsson with Denis Giraudet drove for the OMV Kronos Citroën World Rally Team in the Citroën Xsara WRC .

Toni Gardemeister from Finland and Jakke Honkanen competed in a Mitsubishi Lancer for the Mitsubishi MSP team.
