Henning Solberg (born January 8, 1973 ) is a Norwegian car athlete and rally driver .

Career

Henning Solberg started his career as a racing driver in some bilcross competitions and in rallycross . After becoming Norwegian RX vice-champion in 1992, 93 and 94, winning the Nordic RX Championship in 1994 and finishing the FIA European Rallycross Championship in 1995 with 12th place overall in the Group N division, he switched to rallying.

Solberg has been driving in the World Rally Championship since 1998 . He had bought into the Bozian Racing Team for seven World Championship races in the 2004 season and drove a Peugeot 206 WRC, with which he finished sixth in the Rally Sweden . For the 2005 World Rally Championship , Henning Solberg switched to the BP Ford World Rally Team and was the third man to contest seven self-financed World Championship races, this time with a Ford Focus RS WRC. For the 2006 World Rally Championship , Solberg returned to Bozian Racing and took part in a total of 12 of the 16 World Rally Championship races for the OMV Peugeot Norway World Rally Team with a Peugeot 307 WRC. The World Rally Championship in 2007 , he also denied in a Ford Focus WRC.

Solberg's greatest successes so far is a 3rd place in the 2006 Rally Turkey and a 3rd place each in the Norway and Japan Rally 2007. In the 2009 World Rally Championship , he achieved two third places in Argentina and Poland . At the 2011 Rally Great Britain he finished third and finished the season in ninth place.

Henning Solberg drove a few rallies from 2012 to 2014, but not a full season.

Personal

Henning Solberg lives in Spydeberg, Norway, in Østfold, about 50 km east of Oslo . He is married and has two children. Henning Solberg is the brother of 2003 world rally champion Petter Solberg , who is almost two years older .
