Reports

Day 1 (Thursday, November 14th)

In stormy weather, rain and low temperatures, the new world champion Sébastien Ogier won the qualification. Ogier was also unbeatable in the subsequent three night stages and he led the overall classification after the first day with a lead of over three seconds over Thierry Neuville . Robert Kubica drove in the top rally class for the first time. After winning the WRC-2 title, Kubica got a car from Citroën and was seventh after the first day.

Day 2 (Friday, November 15th)

Two Citroën crashed out on Friday. First Kubica overturns in the fourth special stage and team mate Mikko Hirvonen did the same in the sixth special stage. So Dani Sordo was the only Citroën in the competition. Sordo got five penalty minutes because he was already using the ninth chassis in the current World Championship, but only eight are allowed according to the regulations. Jari-Matti Latvala has now overtaken Neuville. He made the one-two lead perfect for Volkswagen . There was an exciting fight for fifth place with Mads Østberg , Evgeny Novikov and Andreas Mikkelsen . These three pilots moved within 15 seconds.

Day 3 (Saturday, November 16)

The Kubica Citroën DS3 WRC could be repaired. However, he did not drive long that day either, in the eleventh special stage Kubica flew off the track again and could no longer get out of the ditch. Hirvonen could no longer start, the damage to the car was too great. Also in SS 11 Novikov left the road and was eliminated. Ogier and Latvala continued to lead the rally after the third day. The third Volkswagen with Mikkelsen at the wheel was in fourth place. The only one between the VW drivers is Neuville with the Ford Fiesta WRC. If Neuville crosses the finish line in third on Sunday, he will be vice world champion.

4th day (Sunday, November 17th)

Mads Østberg drove the best time in the 18th special stage and overtook fourth-placed Mikkelsen. Neuville won the 19th special stage, which was also the power stage . He was thus credited three points for the world championship. The other points went to Østberg and Novikov, Ogier came fourth empty-handed. After 22 special stages, Ogier won the ninth rally in 2013. Volkswagen concluded the successful season with a double victory with Latvala in second place. Thierry Neuville can also look back on a successful season with second world championship rank.
