Martin Prokop (born October 4, 1982 in Jihlava ) is a Czech rally driver . He won the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) title in 2009 . In 2010 he switched to the SWRC . In the 2011 season , Prokop competed in the SWRC and WRC classes .

After Prokop had been active in the Czech rally championship for four years, he made his world championship debut in 2005 at the Monte Carlo Rally . He started in the JWRC and finished this event in ninth place. At the end of this season, he finished equally in the Junior World Rally Championship.

In the 2006 season he achieved his first JWRC victory at the Rally Catalonia ; he finished the season with the tenth JWRC World Championship rank. In 2007 he achieved two victories in the Rally Germany and the Rally Corsica in the same class . Thus, Prokop achieved third place in the Junior World Rally Championship.

At the 2008 World Rally Championship , he switched between JWRC and PWRC classes several times during the season , finishing third in the JWRC and fifth in the PWRC.

In the 2009 World Rally Championship season , he again took part in both championships. He secured the Junior World Championship title back in October after taking class victory at the Cyprus Rally and the Sardinia Rally . In the PWRC he finished second overall behind Armindo Araújo .

With the 2010 season Prokop moved to the SWRC. He was the first driver to win a special stage with a Super 2000 vehicle. This year he got a third and three second places in the SWRC class.

In the 2011 World Rally Championship he will start again with an S2000 vehicle. At the Rally Mexico , with a ninth place overall, he scored championship points for the first time and his first victory in the SWRC class .
