Reports

Day 1 (Thursday, September 12th)

The qualification was won by Citroën driver Kris Meeke , who replaced Dani Sordo in Australia, although Sordo had won in Germany. After the first two special stages, Andreas Mikkelsen leads the rally in the overall standings ahead of Kris Meeke and Jari-Matti Latvala . The three fastest and Sébastien Ogier in fourth moved within 1.5 seconds.

Day 2 (Friday, September 13th)

Sébastien Ogier experienced an almost perfect day in the VW Polo R WRC, winning seven of eight special stages. Only Mikko Hirvonen in the Citroën DS3 WRC was able to win a stage that day. In the evening Hirvonen was 20 seconds behind Ogier.

3rd day (Saturday, September 14th)

Ogier was still on course for victory and further increased the lead over Hirvonen. Thierry Neuville in the Ford Fiesta WRC secured third place with solid drives on Saturday's special stages. If there were no changes to this classification on Sunday, Ogier would be world champion early on.

4th day (Sunday, September 15th)

Sébastien Ogier won the Rally Australia , but it wasn't quite enough for the world championship title. Thierry Neuville moved up to second place due to a tire damage by Hirvonen and because he also finished second in the power stage and thus earned two additional world championship points, it was not enough for the world championship despite winning the rally and power stage -Title by Ogier / Ingrassia. Despite the mishap, Hirvonen finished third ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala .
