Reports

1st day (Wednesday, May 1st)

The rally began with qualification on Wednesday morning on a short 4.5 kilometer gravel road. Jari-Matti Latvala , driving the VW Polo R WRC , won it just ahead of Sébastien Loeb in the Citroën DS3 WRC . Ogier won the short super stage in the afternoon before Loeb. An event primarily for the audience.

2nd day (Thursday, May 2nd)

At the front it was close between Sébastien Ogier and Mikko Hirvonen , after three special stages Ogier led the overall standings with 3.6 seconds. Loeb had problems with the set-up of his car and fell behind. It rained in the afternoon and the waitresses were difficult. At the end of the day, Ogier led the ranking, while Loeb had to be content with fourth place. On the 51.88 kilometer SS 3 Dani Sordo overturned due to an error in the record. As a result, the power steering no longer worked properly.

3rd day (Friday, May 3rd)

The third day was the duel between the Ogier rally and Loeb. In the seventh special stage, Ogier went off the road and lost 44 seconds. Loeb took the lead and team-mate Hirvonen was 8.9 seconds behind him. In the afternoon Ogier lost more time because of a puncture. The same fate befell Hirvonen, who was in second place. His car was badly damaged by the flying tire parts on the body , which cost him a lot of time. In the overall standings, Loeb was ahead of Ogier with 40.3 seconds and Evgeny Novikov with 2:39 minutes.

4th day (Saturday, May 4th)

Due to Sébastien Loeb's big lead, the places were secured. Ogier was satisfied with second place and didn't attack again. Behind them Latvala (punctured on Friday) and Novikov fought for third place. However, Novikov had to admit defeat due to a defect in the electronics. Latvala won all four special stages on the last day of the rally. Sébastien Loeb and co-driver Daniel Elena won the Argentina Rally for the eighth time.
