The Rally Bulgaria 2010 ( Bulgarian Рали България 2010 , officially 41st Rally Bulgaria ) was the 7th round of the 2010 World Rally Championship .

The event, which was added to the 2010 World Rally Championship calendar in September 2009, had already been held several times as a run for the FIA - European Rally Championship and was held for the first time as a run for the World Rally Championship that year. It took place from July 9th to 11th, 2010 in southeastern Bulgaria . This event also included the third of six rounds of the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) 2010.

Routing and conditions

The paddock was set up in Borovets , where the ceremonial start also took place. The special stages largely consisted of narrow, winding, paved mountain roads. Thirteen of the fourteen planned special stages were started in and around the winter sports area in the Rila Mountains. The 24.86 km long special stage 7 had to be canceled for safety reasons due to the crowds. The total length including connecting stages was 1223.07 kilometers and ended again in this rally at the finish in Borovets.

Summary

Henning Solberg in the Ford Fiesta S2000 was fastest in this class

The rally ended with a quadruple victory for Citroën. The reigning world champion Sébastien Loeb in the Citroën C4 WRC achieved his fourth win of the season and the 58th victory of his career. His team-mate Dani Sordo crossed the finish line in second place , followed by privateer Petter Solberg . The driver of the Citroën Junior Team Sébastien Ogier was fourth overall. That was the first brand quadruple victory since the Safari Rally at the 1993 World Rally Championship .

Of forty vehicles that started, twenty-seven reached the finish. Former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen took eleventh place in the overall standings.
