The New Zealand Rally was the fifth round of the 2010 World Rally Championship . The race took place from May 7th to 9th and the rally base was near Auckland . In addition to the WRC , the fourth run of the SWRC and the PWRC was held in New Zealand .

Race report

Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford) won the third WRC round of his career. The decision was made in the last special stage. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) led the rally, Latvala was able to catch him before the finish and distanced Ogier by 2.4 seconds. Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) was classified in third place, 15.2 seconds back. Loeb took the lead from Ogier in SS 18. He collided with a tree in SS 19, which cost him around 40 seconds and victory.

Jari Ketomaa won the SWRC class and finished eighth overall. Xavier Pons also finished in the top ten overall. Ketomaa took over the championship lead in the SWRC with a lead of 20 points over Martin Prokop , who finished third.

In the PWRC class, Hayden Paddon won ahead of Emma Gilmour and Kingsley Thompson , all from New Zealand.
