The Rally Portugal was the sixth round of the 2010 World Rally Championship . The event took place from May 27th to May 30th. The headquarters were in the city of Faro ( Algarve region ). The rally was also the second round of the Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) and the fifth round of the Super 2000 World Rally Championship (SWRC).

Race report

After Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) had to surrender the first victory of his career in New Zealand in the last special stage, it worked out in Portugal. Ogier won six of 18 special stages and was able to distance the World Championship leader Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) by 7.9 seconds in the overall standings. Third place went to Dani Sordo (Citroën) and Mikko Hirvonen (Ford) pushed Petter Solberg (Citroën) into fifth place in the last special stage. Ogier caught up in the world championship table with victory in Portugal and was in second place, 38 points behind Loeb, who stood on the podium for the sixth time at the sixth rally of the year.
