Reports

Day 1 (Friday, June 22nd)

The Citroën works drivers Sébastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen dominated the New Zealand Rally on the first day. The Ford works drivers Jari-Matti Latvala and Petter Solberg were unlucky. Solberg lost over two minutes to Loeb due to a puncture. Latvala lost over four minutes after an accident in which he got stuck in a fence. The best Ford driver was Evgeny Novikov in third place, over a minute and a half behind.

Day 2 (Saturday, June 23)

Loeb and Hirvonen drove for victory on the second day. With a lead of 6.4 seconds, Loeb stayed at the top of the overall standings. Solberg had caught up and passed Novikov. He was in third place. Ott Tänak (Ford), Thierry Neuville (Citroën), Dani Sordo (MINI) and Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford) followed in fourth to eighth place .

3rd day (Sunday, June 24th)

Citroën secured the double victory with team orders and did not allow the drivers Loeb and Hirvonen to compete against each other on the third and last day of the rally. Ott Tänak , in fourth place, dropped out a few kilometers from the finish after a rollover. Otherwise the overall ranking of the top eight placed had not changed.
