Daniel Caro Borda

Daniel Caro Borda (born December 22, 1939 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Soacha .

Life

The Bishop of Zipaquirá , Buenaventura Jáuregui Prieto , ordained him a priest on August 15, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Bogotá and titular bishop of Rusibisir on July 21, 2000 . The Archbishop of Bogotá, Pedro Cardinal Rubiano Sáenz , donated him episcopal ordination on September 19 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Jorge Enrique Jiménez Carvajal CIM , Bishop of Zipaquirá, and Fernando Sabogal Viana , Auxiliary Bishop in Bogotá.

On August 6, 2003, he was appointed the first bishop of the Soacha diocese , which was established on the same date , and was appointed to the office on September 14 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 29, 2016.
