Daniel Corrêa Freitas , called Daniel (born January 22, 1994 in Juiz de Fora ; † before or on October 27, 2018 ) was a Brazilian football player .

Career

Daniel started his career at Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte and joined the youth of Botafogo Rio de Janeiro in 2013 . In the same year he made his debut in the first team in the Brazilian first division. He was considered a great talent and was also called Daniel Messi due to his outstanding dribbling skills .

In 2014, however, he tore his cruciate ligament and was not able to continue his old achievements afterwards. He moved to São Paulo at the end of the year , from where he was loaned to various teams, most recently in the second division. But nowhere was he able to assert himself.

On October 27, 2018, he was found murdered and mutilated in a suburb of Curitiba .
