Daniel Douqué

Daniel Douqué (born December 27, 1806 in Niederlahnstein ; † March 7, 1891 ibid) was a German Lahn boatman and politician .

Life

Douqué was the son of the judge Franz Heinrich Douqué (born March 3, 1776 in Niederlahnstein; † April 17, 1826 ibid), the son of the innkeeper "Zum Schwanen" in Niederlahnstein, Anton Jacob Douqué and Anna Elisabeth née Pfeiffer. The mother was Sophia Daniela nee Staas (born February 22, 1783 in Niederlahnstein; † February 12, 1828 in Niederlahnstein), the daughter of the innkeeper "Zum Weißen Roß" in Niederlahnstein Daniel Staas, and Anna Katharina Seiberich.

Douqué, who was a Catholic denomination, married Agnes Neis (born May 25, 1816 in Oberlahnstein; † in Niederlahnstein) in 1839, the daughter of the butcher Johann Philipp Neis and the Barbara Brauer. His uncle Franz Anton Douqué (1768-1851) was an innkeeper, Lahn boatman and also a member of parliament.

Douqué lived as a boatman on the Lahn in Niederlahnstein. In 1865 he was a member of the second chamber of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau (1st choice) for constituency XIV Braubach / Nastätten.

Crypt chapel (right)

He and his wife are buried in the crypt chapel he built in the old cemetery in Niederlahnstein. The crypt chapel is a listed building .
