Daniel E. Freeman

Daniel E. Freeman (born April 27, 1959 in Everett / Washington ) is an American musicologist and historian.

Freeman studied piano at the University of Wisconsin (Bachelor 1981) and Musicology at the University of Illinois (Master 1983, Ph.D. 1987). He has taught at the University of Illinois, the University of Southern California , the University of Minnesota and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. In addition to numerous articles on music (piano sonatas and concerts, operas) and culture in Bohemia in the 18th century and on the composers Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons, Antonio Vivaldi and Josquin des Prez , he published three monographs: "The Opera Theater of Count Franz Anton von Sporck in Prague " (Pendragon Press, 1992), " Josef Mysliveček , "Il Boemo": The Man and His Music " (2009) and " Mozart in Prague " (2013).
