Daniel Haquet

Daniel Haquet (born January 9, 1957 in Elbeuf ) is a former French basketball player .

career

The 2.02 meter long winger belonged to the AS Strasbourg team and then moved to SIG Strasbourg in 1974 . From 1976 Haquet was in the service of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne and won the French championship title with the team in the 1976/77 season. He scored 6.7 points per game this season. In the second championship title in 1980/81 he was already one of ASVEL's leading players, scoring 14.8 points per game.

In 1982 Haquet moved to Olympique d'Antibes . There he increased his points and reached 1984/85 with 18.9 points per game, the highest value of his career in the Ligue Nationale de Basket . In 1986 he accepted an offer from EB Orthez . Haquet became champions with the team in 1987 and played with her in the European Cup .

He returned to Antibes in 1988 and won the championship title with the southern French in 1991. In 1992 he ended his competitive sports career.

In 1995, Saint-Vallier Basket Drôme became champions of the Liga Nationale 3 as player-coach under Haquet.

National team

With France's national team, he took part in the European Championships in 1983 and 1985 and in the 1986 World Cup. At the World Cup in Spain he statistically scored 12.2 points per game and was the fourth best French basket scorer of the tournament. He played 81 international matches.
