Daniel Henrotin alias Dany (born January 28, 1943 in Marche-en-Famenne ) is a Belgian comic artist whose spectrum ranges from adventure stories to soft eroticism.

Career

After studying art in Liège , he gained his first experience as a comic artist as Mittéï's (Jean Marriette )’s assistant . This collaboration ended when Dany was called up for military service and only occasionally found time to produce individual illustrations and short articles for Tintin magazine.

While he was still doing military service, Greg offered Dany to work for him. Since 1966 he has been helping to create Albert Enzian and Les As , for which Greg wrote the stories. Finally, in 1968, he was able to draw his first own series in Tintin with Oliver & Columbine . This poetic and humorous series by Greg was his first major hit. After Alice au pays des merveilles , he worked again with Greg in Jo Nuage et Kay Mac Cloud .

Dany made the turn to realistic comics with the one-shot adventure without heroes by Jean Van Hamme . He then started his first realistic series with Joker . He also took over Andy Morgan as Hermann's successor . Although Dany saw his strengths more in the humorous area, he later returned to realistic comics at the age of 20 and In Dracula's Footsteps .

In the 1980s, Dany turned more and more to "cheeky" comics. He made erotic jokes as short gag strips for various magazines. Dany made his final breakthrough in 1990 with the soft erotic comic Ça Vous Intéresse? (dt. Interested? ), a collection of erotic jokes and gag strips that number in subsequent years sequels (German title Oh la la , even more? , Shame on you , Shocked? ) found. With this series of albums with the erotic gag strips, he also celebrated international success and achieved considerable sales figures.

In Equator , Dany developed a semi-realistic style that he refined in The Warriors of Troy . If he had already experimented with a new coloring in the last story of Oliver & Columbine , he switched to direct coloring in In Dracula's Footsteps and The Warriors of Troy .
