Daniel Herberg (born March 7, 1974 in Oberstdorf ) is a German curler from the EC Oberstdorf and works as a project developer.
Career
Herberg began his international career at the Junior World Championship in 1992 as a second in Markus Herberg's team . In the following three years he was always on the podium in the juniors; 1994 and 1995 as a skip and winner of the silver medal.
Herberg played his first adult world championship in 1993 as a substitute in Skip Wolfgang Burba's team . The first European championship followed in 1996 as the skip of the German men's team. He celebrated his greatest successes in this competition at the European Championships in 2002 and 2004 , when he and his team were European champions. In addition, he was in 2002 in Salt Lake City and Olympian , finishing in the Olympic curling tournament in sixth place.
At the World Championships he won his only medal so far in 2004 when he was third in Sebastian Stock's team after a final defeat against the Swedes led by Peja Lindholm . He has participated in eight world championships, most recently in 2018 as second in Alexander Baumann's team . At the European Championships, in which he took part 13 times (most recently in 2017 ), after the great successes in 2004 and 2004, he was unable to achieve another podium placement; the best results were fourth place in 2006 and 2010.
In 2010 he took part in the Winter Olympics as a substitute for CC Füssen. He played his first game against Switzerland on February 19. The team took sixth place. At the qualifying tournament for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games , he played second in the national team led by Alexander Baumann. However, with a seventh place qualification was missed.
