Gottfried Mascov

Gottfried Mascov , also Mascovius (born September 26, 1698 in Danzig ; † October 5, 1760 in Leipzig ), was a German legal scholar.

Mascov studied law and philosophy at the Universities of Leipzig and Altdorf from 1716 to 1724 . From 1724 to 1729 he was a private lecturer in Roman law , antiquity and natural law at the University of Leipzig. From 1728 to 1735 he was then a full professor of law at the Gelders Academy Harderwyck , whose rector he was in 1730.

In 1735 he was appointed councilor.

Mascov was from 1735 to 1739 a full professor of law at the University of Göttingen . From 1739 to 1748 he was a private lecturer for Roman law and natural law at the University of Leipzig and from 1748 to 1760 he was a full professor for natural and international law at the University of Leipzig.
