Daniel Oliveira (born July 12, 1985 ) is a Brazilian rally driver . In 2010 he took part in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC). In the 2011 season he will compete in the World Rally Championship from Rally Portugal , initially with a Mini S2000 , before switching to a WRC of the same brand in the course of this season .

Career

Before Oliveira started in the IRC in 2010, he was only active in rallying at a few national events in Brazil and Argentina . The first international rally he took part in was the 2009 Argentina Rally, part of the World Rally Championship . He started there with a Subaru Impreza in class N4 and crossed the finish line in 23rd place overall, one hour, seventeen minutes and forty-five seconds behind the winner, Sébastien Loeb .

In the following year, he took part in ten out of twelve rallies on IRC. At the “Rally Internacional de Curitiba”, the only rally he contested for the Austrian team Stohl Racing , he achieved seventh place overall and thus two points in the IRC championship. The 20th place at the Monte Carlo Rally and the 21st place at the “Ralli Vinho da Madeira” were his further successes this season. In the other seven rallies, he retired early for various reasons.

Oliveira was the first privateer to buy into the Mini WRC Team , supported by Prodrive , and to compete in the 2011 Rally Portugal for the new Brazil World Rally Team .
