Daniel Rackwitz (born January 12, 1989 in Schwerin ) is a German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2005 Daniel Rackwitz became two-time German junior champion in sprint and team sprint (with Tobias Wächter and David Wilken ). The following year he again won two German junior titles, in the time trial and in the keirin .

In 2007 Rackwitz became European champion (youngsters) in the 1000-meter time trial; at the junior track world championships, he finished third in this discipline. In 2011 he became German champion in scratch .

Rackwitz rode for the " Track Cycling Team Mecklenburg-Vorpommern " and has been a rider in the BIKE Market Team since 2014. In July 2014 he took part in the Race Across America as a member of the Best of Northern Germany team with the track cyclist Stefan Nimke and the triathletes Michael and Denis Kruse . The team finished the 4,800-kilometer race in five days and 19 hours, finishing fourth in its category.

In 2017, Daniel Rackwitz won bronze in the single pursuit at the Paracycling European Cup in Manchester as a pilot for the visually impaired Kai Kruse . He stood in for Kruse's standard partner Stefan Nimke , who was ill, at short notice .
