Daniel Schnelting

Daniel Schnelting (born March 9, 1986 in Borken ) is a German athlete from LAZ Rhede . The Velen resident is considered to be one of the strongest German runners on the sprint courses .

Schnelting's breakthrough came in 2005 at the German Championships in Wattenscheid when he finished third over 200 meters behind Tobias Unger and Till Helmke . He confirmed this performance three weeks later at the Junior European Championships in Kaunas . Over 200 meters and with the 4 x 100 meter relay, he was a two-time gold medalist. Finally, he won the 100 and 200 meter titles at the German Junior Championships in Braunschweig .

At the German Championships in Ulm in 2006 , he ran over 200 meters with a personal best of 20.96 seconds and qualified for the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg . There, however, he had to cancel the start in the intermediate run due to a muscle strain he had pulled during the warm-up. In 2007 things went even better at the German Championships in Erfurt. On a wet tartan track, he won the title in 20.88 s. In 2008 Schnelting was able to defend his championship title in Nuremberg in 20.54 s. In 2010 he was again German champion in Braunschweig in 20.73 s.
