Daniel Stürler
Daniel Stürler ( ~ December 21, 1674 in Bern ; † 1746 there ; citizen of Bern) was a Swiss architect .
Life
Daniel Stürler was born in Bern as the son of Johann Franz Stürler and Anna Barbara Stürler. He inherited the Worblaufen estate from his father. His first marriage was Katharina von Wattenwyl in 1700. In 1710 he became a member of the Grand Council. From 1721 to 1725 he directed the construction of the Hindelbank Castle on behalf of Hieronymus von Erlach . Stürler wrote plans for the Heiliggeistkirche and the Burgerspital in Bern. As governor of Lenzburg from 1725 to 1731, he planned and built a staircase ( scalin ) near the main entrance of Lenzburg Castle. Due to financial difficulties, he later withdrew from political life and in 1733 acquired the Gasthof Krone in Bern, which he possibly rebuilt with his son Albrecht Stürler .
