Albrecht Stürler

Albrecht Stürler ( ~ March 6, 1705 in Bern ; † April 27, 1748 there ; citizen of Bern) was a Swiss architect .

Life

Albrecht Stürler was born in Bern as the son of foreman Daniel Stürler . Numerous buildings in Bern have been attributed to him in the past. There is evidence that he built the rear Bernerhaus in Baden and the old Gasthof zur Krone in Bern. He made plans for the new construction of the monastery building on Bern's Münsterplatz, the Interlaken Palace and the Erlacherhof in Bern. He is credited with the plans for the new Worb Castle . Stürler died unmarried and left his legacy to his nephew Ludwig May.
