Daniela Elsner (* 5. May 1971 in Bad Oeynhausen as Daniela Bäsler ) is a German Anglistin , Didaktikerin and university teacher at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1991, Elsner began studying law at the University of Würzburg in the 1991/92 winter semester , but switched to teaching as a major in English in the following winter semester. From 1993 to 1995 she worked as a research assistant at Elisabeth Neuhaus-Siemon's chair . She completed this course in 1996 with the first state examination. After the subsequent legal clerkship, she passed her second state examination in 1998. She then worked as a teacher at the Wittelsbach School in Kempten until 2001 . From 2001 she held a teaching position, initially at the University of Cologne , and from 2003 until 2006 at the University of Bremen . Elsner received his doctorate there in 2006 with Gerhard Bach with summa cum laude for Dr. phil.

She then worked as an academic adviser to Bach's chair for English foreign language didactics at the University of Bremen. From 2008 she was professor for didactics of the English language and literature at the University of Vechta . In 2010 she changed to the chair for didactics and language teaching research at the Institute for English and American Studies at the University of Frankfurt am Main , which she has held since then. She is also director of the Academy for Educational Research and Teacher Training in Frankfurt am Main. In 2014 she received the Ars legendi Prize for excellent university teaching .
