Danielle Brooks
Danielle Brooks (born September 17, 1989 in Augusta , Georgia ) is an American actress and singer, best known for playing Tasha Jefferson in Orange Is the New Black .
life and career
Danielle Brooks was in Augusta and grew up in Greenville in the US state of South Carolina on. Brooks gained his first experience as a singer in a gospel choir . She spent parts of her school career at South Carolina's Governor's School for Arts and Humanity . In 2011 she graduated from the Juilliard School .
After graduating from Juilliard, she appeared in various productions for the Shakespeare Theater Company . She had her first television role in 2012 in the film Modern Love . From 2013 to 2019 she played Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black at the side of Taylor Schilling . In 2014, she was the first dark-skinned woman to appear on the HBO series Girls .
