Taylor Schilling (born July 27, 1984 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American actress .

life and career

Even in her school days, Schilling devoted herself to acting and appeared on stage for the first time. She graduated from Wayland High School in 2002. She attended Fordham University until 2006 , from which she graduated with a bachelor's degree in acting. There she had joined theater groups and participated in performances.

Her first small film role was in 2007 in Schilling drama Dark Matter alongside Meryl Streep . In the television series Mercy , she played the lead role of a nurse from 2009 until the series was discontinued in 2010. She had her first leading role in a movie in 2011 in The Atlas Trilogy - Who is John Galt? , a film adaptation of the first third of the novel Atlas throws the world off by the author Ayn Rand . In 2012 she starred alongside Zac Efron in the film adaptation of The Lucky One and next to Ben Affleck in the thriller Argo . From 2013 to 2019, she starred all seven seasons as Piper Chapman for the series Orange Is the New Black in front of the camera.
