Brigadier General Danilo Sena was a pilot in the Uruguayan Air Force (Fuerza Aérea) . Sena, who belonged to the Partido Colorado , held the post of Interior Minister of Uruguay from June 3, 1971 to March 1, 1972 under President Jorge Pacheco Areco as the successor to Santiago de Brum Carbajal .

On October 17, 1971, Sena carried out a pistol duel around ten miles northwest of Montevideo behind the military school located there with the former Minister of Industry Enrique Erro due to a difference of opinion after Sena had been publicly referred to as a coward by his opponent.
