Daniel Patrick "Danny" Granville (born January 19, 1975 in Islington , London ) is an English football player who is currently under contract with Hemel Hempstead in the Southern Football League . He is preferred as a left defender .

Career

Club career

Granville began his professional career in 1999 with Cambridge United , where he played 99 games and attracted some high-profile clubs to himself.

In 1999 he moved to Chelsea for a fee of £ 300,000 . However, he lost his regular seat when Chelsea brought Graeme Le Saux back from Blackburn Rovers . His greatest success during this time was winning the European Cup Winners' Cup with Chelsea in the 1997/98 season against VfB Stuttgart . He scored his only goal against ŠK Slovan Bratislava .

In the summer of 1999, he moved to Leeds United for £ 1.6million .

After a successful loan from Manchester City in 1999 , he was signed for a million pounds. In the end, he was barely used and was awarded to Norwich City for a month . He turned down permanent employment and instead returned to Manchester City.

In December 2001, Granville moved to Crystal Palace . He played a total of 111 league games for Palace, where he scored nine goals.

In the 2007/08 season he moved to the second division Colchester United . He was released at the end of the season.

On June 4, 2008 Granville signed with the third division Leyton Orient . After almost a year, he was fired in June 2009 by the manager Geraint Williams, who had previously fired him as a manager at Colchester United.

In October 2009 he signed a contract with sixth division Hemel Hempstead Town.

National team

In 1997 Granville completed four games for the England U-21 national team .
