Daniel Adam "Danny" Pugh (born October 19, 1982 in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport ) is an English football player .

Career

Leeds United

With only one appearance for Manchester United , Pugh moved to Leeds United as part of the Alan Smith transfer . It was the first transfer that the new Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell made . Pugh's versatility was the main driver behind his engagement. So he can play both offensively and defensively on the left wing. So Pugh took over a key role in the squad of Leeds, which had only four players from last season in the squad due to great financial difficulties. So he was the top scorer of his team in the first half of his first Leeds season. However, in the second half of the season he was pushed out of midfield by David Healy , who moved from Preston North End in the winter. Due to the system change decided by the coach to a more offensive 4-3-3, Pugh was only left with a reserve role. In his last six months at Leeds, he came on only five missions.

Preston North End

In June 2006, Pugh moved to Preston North End, where he was regularly used. Initially on the flank, but later increasingly in the central midfield.

Stoke City

In November 2007, Stoke City announced that it had loaned Pugh to January 2008 with an option to buy, which is why the contract was signed on January 3, 2008. He was also used in central midfield at Stoke, as he did recently at Preston.

Leeds United

After he had already switched to his former club Leeds United on loan on September 22, 2011 , he signed a two-and-a-half year contract with United on January 2, 2012.
