Dark was a dark / death metal band founded in Kaiserslautern in 1991 .

The online magazine metal.de judged the debut album Endless Dreams of Sadness , which was published independently in 1996 and in 1997 by Gun Records , that there are four different types of songs: "pure bludgeon", "pure bludgeon with keyboard effects" and keyboard-heavy ones Medium-tempo pieces and very slow songs that “consist almost entirely of a keyboard carpet”. In addition, a proximity to Crematory was attested, but the "sound sounds almost completely independent". The Ox-Fanzine, on the other hand, came to the opposite conclusion that “nothing good could come of it” if “Metal is paired with Gothic-Rock”.

In the same year the second album Seduction was released and u. a. Tiamat , The Gathering and Theater of Tragedy used as references. As a new element, the clear voice of guitarist Mathias Fickert was incorporated into about a third of the vocal passages.

The third and final album Revolution was released in 1999. It was recorded in January of the same year in the Commusication Studio under the direction of Gerhard Magin. In addition to eight original compositions, it also contains a cover version of the U2 song Pride (In the Name of Love) . The band shrunk to the size of a trio, the style became much more electronic and the singing with Fickert as the sole singer was exclusively clear.
