Darmadi

Darmadi (* 1945 in Surakarta , Jawa Tengah , also known as Wong Pek Sen or Wong Pek Shen ) is a former Indonesian badminton player .

Career

Under his original name Wong Pek Sen, he won the silver medal in the men's singles at the Asian Games in 1966 . In the final he was defeated by Ang Tjin Siang . In the same year they both won the French Open together . As Darmadi he won in 1969 with Minarni in the Canada Open in mixed doubles. In the same year he finished second at the All England , where he lost the final against his compatriot Rudy Hartono . In 1968 he had defeated Hartono in the final of the Singapore Pesta Championships.

In 1970 he won the Thomas Cup with the Indonesian team , but lost his individual against Tan Aik Huang in the final against Malaysia with 12:15 and 12:15. Besides the loss of Indratno and Mintarja's doubles against Ng Boon Bee and Punch Gunalan , this defeat was the only one, so that Indonesia won the final score 7-2.
