Darren Matthews (born January 17, 1991 in Bridgetown ) is a former Barbadian cyclist who was active on the road and track .
Athletic career
At the 2010 Commonwealth Games , Darren Matthews finished 32nd in the road race and became national champion in the individual time trial . The following year he became a two-time Barbadian street champion. In 2012, Matthews won the bronze medal in scratch on the track at the Pan American championships . At the Caribbean championships, he finished fourth in the road race . He also won the Tobago Cycling Classic in 2012 . In 2015 he was again Barbadian road champion.
doping
After Matthews was found to be anabolic steroids and other doping substances in two doping tests in 2015 , he was banned from the National Anti-Doping Commission for four years in early 2016.
