Darrent Williams
Darrent Williams (born September 27, 1982 in Fort Worth , Texas , † January 1, 2007 in Denver , Colorado ) was an American football player. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Denver Broncos team . His death as a result of a drive-by shoot caused a particular stir .
Williams attended OD Wyatt High School in Fort Worth, Texas, where he played as a cornerback on their football team . He was then enrolled in Oklahoma State University and was brought to the Denver Broncos in the NFL in 2005 as a second-round draft pick.
In the early morning of January 1, 2007, strangers fired at his stretch limousine from a passing car . Darrent Williams was fatally shot, his teammate Javon Walker was uninjured.
On April 30, 2010, Willie DeWayne Clark, a member of the Crips , was sentenced to life imprisonment (plus 1,152 years for other crimes) for the murder of Darrent Williams.
