Javon Lataff Walker (born October 14, 1978 in Galveston , Texas ) is a retired American football player on the position of wide receiver . He last played for the Oakland Raiders in the National Football League (NFL).

Walker attended Jones County Junior College in Ellisville , Mississippi before going to Florida State University . In 1997 he was by the Florida Marlins in the eighth round of the Major League Baseball - Drafts selected and worked there until the 1999th However, he could not assert himself completely and was only used in minor league baseball . Therefore, Walker continued to focus on his football career and was selected in the 2002 NFL Draft in the first round in twentieth position by the Green Bay Packers .

In the 2004/05 season he succeeded with 89 passes caught for 1,382 yards of space and 12 touchdowns his breakthrough and he was called to the Pro Bowl . In the first game of the following season, Walker seriously injured his right knee and was out for the rest of the season. On April 29, 2006, he was traded for a second-round draft pick to the Denver Broncos . In the first season with his new team, Walker was able to establish himself as a top performer in the Broncos.

On January 1, 2007, he and his friend and teammate Darrent Williams were victims of a so-called drive-by shoot . He survived unharmed while Darrent Williams died in the limo.

In 2008 he moved to the Oakland Raiders , where he received a highly paid contract, but was rarely used due to an injury and was released after two seasons.

In 2010 he signed on with the Minnesota Vikings , took part in the preparation, but had to leave the team before the start of the regular season .
