The Daruma Rock is a rocky cape on the western flank of the Nishi-naga-iwa glacier on the Crown Prince Olav coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land .
He was mapped and photographed by participants in the Japanese Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1957 to 1962, and who descriptively named him Daruma-iwa ( Japanese だ る ま 岩 , German stand-up rock ). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Japanese designation in 1968 in a partial translation into English.
