Darvin Moon (born October 1, 1963 in Oakland , Maryland ) is an American lumberjack and poker player .

Career

Moon reached the final table in July 2009 at the World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas at the Main Event , which was played in early November 2009. There he took second place behind his compatriot Joe Cada and received prize money of just under 5.2 million US dollars . Before his tournament success , Moon , who worked as a woodcutter , lived with his wife in a trailer at the foot of Backbone Mountain and had liabilities of around 35,000 US dollars. Subsequently, major successes remained in his poker career.
