Physalis greenmanii is a plant type from the genus of jujubes ( Physalis ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Physalis greenmanii is an herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 1 to 2 m. The plant is hairy with 1 to 3 mm long, articulated trichomes . The leaves are ovate, pointed to the front or crescent-shaped, heart-shaped at the base and with entire margins. The larger leaves are 6 to 10 cm long and 3.5 to 6.5 cm wide. The petiole is 1.3 to 5 cm long.
The flowers are on 5 to 10 mm long pedicels . The calyx is 8 to 10 mm long at the flowering time and 7 mm wide at the base of the calyx tips. The calyx lobes are ovate to ovate, lanceolate, pointed and 5 to 7 mm long. The crown is spotted, measures 10 to 14 mm in length and 15 to 18 mm in diameter. The anthers are purple and 3 to 4 mm long. The stamens are thread-like.
As the fruit ripens, the calyx enlarges to a length of 25 to 40 mm and a diameter of 25 to 30 mm. The cross section of the calyx is pentagonal, the calyx lobes are long and pointed. The stem is 7 to 10 mm long on the fruit. The berry is 10 to 12 mm in diameter.

The species is common in Mexico .
