The Messie Team - Start in a New Life was a reality TV show showing the work of clearing professional Dennis Karl and the messie therapist Sabina Hankel-Hirtz . This show ran from 2011 to 2014.

content

The series The Messie Team - Start in a New Life was about people who suffer from the so-called Messie Syndrome and for whom a start into a new life was paved. Dennis Karl took care of the technical matters such as clearing or renovating the household. Sabina Hankel-Hirtz provided support with psychotherapeutic means.

Each episode began with the introduction of the person affected, and it provided insights into the condition of the apartment or house. Together with those affected, a play of colors was used to determine which things can be disposed of (green point) and what must not be removed under any circumstances (red point). As soon as this issue was resolved, the household was cleared for evacuation by the clearing team. When the household was accessible again, a cleaning company cleaned it up and made preparations for the subsequent renovation team, which made the household habitable again. After the household had been filled with partly existing and partly new furnishings, the apartment was released again for the person concerned, who stayed in the hotel for the duration of the work. The aim was to ensure that the person affected was able to lead an orderly life again in the future through this possibility of a new beginning and the therapeutic treatment.
