The Wantschkette ( Tajik Қаторкӯҳи Ванҷ ; Russian Ванчский хребет ) is a mountain in the western Pamir in Tadschikistan .

The Wantsch chain extends in the province of Berg-Badachschan over a length of about 85 km in a northeast-southwest direction. It is located south of the chain of the Academy of Sciences and runs between the river valleys of Wantsch in the north and Jasgulem in the south. The mountains reach heights of over 5500  m .

Granite and sandstone occur in the mountain range . It is characterized by steep slopes and rugged ravines.

Juniper and various bushes ( roses and hawthorns ) grow on the slopes . The glaciers begin above 4000  m . The glacier area of ​​the Wantsch chain is given as 164 km².
