The Wantsch ( Russian Ванч ) is a right tributary of the Pandsch in the autonomous province of Berg-Badachschan in the east of Tajikistan .

The Vanj River originates in the glaciers of the northern flank of Wantschkette northwest of Ismoil Somoni Peak . It initially flows a little in a north-westerly direction, then turns to the south-west and flows through a deep valley of the Pamir Mountains . Up to the mouth of the Kaschalajak the river is also called Abdukagor . The valley of the Vanj River separates the north to Darwaskette from the south running Wantschkette. The Wantsch has a length of 103 km. It drains an area of ​​2070 km². The mean discharge is 49.4 m³ / s.
