Directed by Charles Winkler , the son of Irwin Winkler , who directed Das Netz from 1995 with Sandra Bullock and co-produced the follow-up. However, the film is not a sequel, but rather retells the story of a computer expert who is being robbed of her identity again with new characters in a similar way.

action

Computer expert Hope Cassidy travels to Istanbul , where she wants to start a new job. Since her passport becomes invalid, she visits the US consular office , where she is issued a new passport. Cassidy discovers that the new passport is in a wrong name. In the meantime, your bank account has been emptied and your credit cards are no longer valid.

Cassidy discovers that her true identity is being abused. She is being hunted by contract killers. It later emerges that this abuse is sanctioned by Interpol to investigate undercover. The investigation leads to the destruction of the organization of an arms dealer. Cassidy is given a new identity and hands over some evidence in return. On the return flight from Istanbul, she checks her account balance - it turns out that she had transferred five million dollars of the criminals' money to her account.

Reviews

David Nusair wrote on Reel Film Reviews that the film was only a sequel in name. He manages to get the "complexity and subtle nuances" of the predecessor recognized. The film is basically a "complete disaster" in every respect with a "listless plot" , poor representations and wrong direction. Convincing characters would be missing; the dialogues would appear stilted and banal. The main actress is not able to carry the film.

The magazine TV 14 23/2008 wrote that the film offers “convincing action” and “good sound effects” .

backgrounds

The film was shot on the Istanbul locations in spring 2005 . It was released direct to DVD in the United States on February 7, 2006.
