The Other Russia or Other Russia ( Russian Другая Россия, transcription Drugaja Rossija ; not to be confused with the party alliance The Other Russia ) is an unregistered Russian party . It was founded on July 10, 2010 by members of the banned National Bolshevik Party and is regarded as their successor organization. An official registration request from the Other Russia was rejected on January 21, 2011 by the Russian Ministry of Justice .

history

On June 29, 2010 Eduard Limonov announced that on July 10 of the same year the founding congress of his new party Other Russia would take place. This was based on the alliance of the same name and " with the aim of participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections ".

On July 10, 2010, the founding congress of the party took place in the Hotel Izmailovo in Moscow. 150 delegates from 50 regions took part. The social contract and the party program were decided almost unanimously. Eduard Limonow was elected chairman of the party. At the entrance to the hotel, some activists from the pro-government youth organization Naschi gathered , holding posters with the words “ Founding congress of a fascist party ” in their hands.

On December 20, 2010, Alexander Aveverin and Eduard Limonow submitted a registration application to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. After about a month it was rejected on the grounds that the social contract of The Other Russia did not comply with the federal law “On Political Parties”. Eduard Limonov replied that his party's articles of association were identical to that of the registered Communist Party of the Russian Federation and that the number on the rejection notice was forged. The other Russia described the rejection as " deeply politically motivated " and announced that it wanted to sue the decision. If the party were not registered, one would " still try to participate in the parliamentary elections ". However, this did not succeed.
