The great general knowledge quiz was a 2011 produced and Sat.1 broadcasted TV quiz. The first issue was broadcast on June 1, 2011. The show was moderated by Johannes B. Kerner .

principle

This quiz consisted of alternating between quizzes on the street and in the studio. On the street, the candidates first qualified by correctly answering all of the outside reporter Ulf Oswold's questions. In the studio, Johannes B. Kerner then asked multiple-choice questions in the respective duel rounds; sometimes there were also studio games. The winner of a duel could decide whether to compete against another candidate who had qualified on the street. The so-called champion was able to defend his title - the more often he can do that, the higher his profit. The candidates received support from two prominent jokers. The prizes ranged from 10,000 euros for the first duel won (this is also the security level) to 25,000 euros, 50,000 euros, 75,000 euros, 125,000 euros, 250,000 euros and the main prize of 500,000 euros. The number of questions to be answered correctly increased with the amount of the prize money.
