Fuet

Fuet ( cat. For whip ') is one of Catalonia derived thin, air-dried hard or smoked sausage , with the salami is used, and in the edible natural casings is matured. In Germany it is usually offered as "Fuetec".

Fuet is made from pork , seasoned with black pepper and air-dried for up to four weeks . Typical of this sausage is its comparatively soft consistency and its sweet taste.

A well-known place of production is the town of Vic in the county of Osona , which offers ideal conditions for the ripening process due to its sheltered location .
