The unfinished portrait (original title: Five Little Pigs ) is a long episode from the ninth season of the British television series Agatha Christie's Poirot from 2003 by Paul Unwin . It is the film adaptation of the 1942 novel by Agatha Christie .

Lucy Crale hires Hercule Poirot to solve a murder fourteen years ago. At that time, her mother was found guilty of her husband, a painter who poisoned to have, and then to death by hanging convicted . The motive is jealousy of her husband's lover. Poirot is quickly convinced of the alleged murderess' innocence and settles on five suspects, whom he visits and questions independently of one another. He receives five different versions of the events of the day on which the poisoning occurred in flashbacks. Finally, all the protagonists come together at the crime scene, a country estate, and Poirot manages to convict the real culprit.
