Paul Unwin

Paul Unwin (* 1957 in England ) is a British screenwriter , director and film producer .

Life

Unwin, who works for both film and television as well as the theater , was among other things artistic director of the Bristol Old, where he directed numerous productions by William Shakespeare , Bertolt Brecht and Henrik Ibsen, among others . He also directed at the National Theater and the Gate Theater . He also wrote three plays himself. For British television he has directed numerous series for the BBC and ITV such as EastEnders , coroner Dr. Leo Dalton and Agatha Christie's Poirot . Together with Jeremy Brock , he had the idea for the hospital series Casualty , which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011, and for which he contributed the script to numerous episodes.

His short film Syrup was nominated for an Oscar in 1995 .
